劉睿,男,中國科學技術大學地球和空間科學學院教授,博士生導師,國家“青年**計劃”入選者。
講席教授、博士生導師、國家杰出青年基金獲得者。1996年從四川省西昌一中考入北京大學地球物理系。2000年北京大學本科畢業后由北大與中科院空間天氣實驗室聯合培養,2003年獲北大空間物理學碩士學位,2009年1月獲美國萊斯大學(Rice University)天體物理學博士學位。2008年9月至2011年6月在美國新澤西理工學院日地物理研究中心空間天氣實驗室從事博士后研究,2011年7月晉升為Research Professor。2011年12月以來在中國科學技術大學地球和空間科學學院擔任教授。

科研成果:
1. 主要從事太陽風暴(包括日珥爆發、耀斑和日冕物質拋射)的研究,涉及太陽風暴的起源、物理結構、爆發條件以及爆發的物理過程。在國外工作期間,對日珥爆發中的硬X射線爆、日冕內爆、大尺度耀斑電流片等的研究取得了一系列成果。作為空間災害性天氣事件的主要驅動源,太陽風暴的研究成果是空間環境保障服務不可缺少的理論基礎和預報依據。空間環境保障涉及國防、航空航天、通訊導航、電力和石油運輸等各個方面,是國家需求之一。
2. 圍繞磁繩形成開展了相關科研,報導了高度剪切的冕環結構通過似穩的非爆發性磁重聯形成磁繩并逐漸演化為不穩定的結構從而最后爆發的詳細過程,證實了磁繩作為儲存自由磁能的一個重要結構可以在太陽大氣中穩定存在,并為解釋行星際磁繩的來源問題提供了線索。
3. 圍繞雙層日珥及其爆發機制開展了相關科研,首次發現并研究了一個雙層日珥由似穩平衡態向部分爆發演化的過程。他們發現爆發前數小時內日珥下層多次向上層輸運物質和磁通,最終使得上層不穩定,從而爆發形成日冕物質拋射;下層則保持平衡態;赟DO、STEREO A和B三顆衛星同時觀測的數據,他們不僅得到日珥各層爆發前的真實高度,還明確推斷出兩層的磁螺度均為左手性。在此基礎上,提出雙層日珥的兩種可能磁場位形。由于任意一層磁結構中都可能缺失日珥物質從而表現為普通的日珥,這種雙層結構具有廣泛的意義。他們進一步發現由色球纖維向日珥輸運磁通也可以驅動日珥爆發,因此這是一種重要的爆發機制。這些成果均發表在頂級學術刊物《天體物理期刊(The Astrophysical Journal)》上。

劉睿:聆聽陽光的聲音
清晨,當太陽從漫天紅霞中噴薄而出,將萬丈金光灑向大地,一種蓬勃向上的激情油然而生?吹竭@個充滿生機的世界,人們不能不熱愛和贊美賜予我們生命和力量的萬物主宰——太陽。
自古,太陽在人類文明中就占有非常重要的地位,而人類對太陽探尋的腳步也從未停止!稘h書•五行志》中記載:“日出黃,有黑氣,大如錢,居日中”,這是得到世界公認的最早的有關太陽黑子的記錄。
不僅古人如此,時至今日,探索神秘的宇宙,揭開太陽的秘密,大概是每個人兒時都曾向往過的一個美好愿望。記者面前的這位年輕學者劉睿,也曾仰望星空,對宇宙充滿憧憬,不過他選擇了腳踏實地——北京大學地球物理系本科、北京大學空間物理學碩士、美國萊斯大學天體物理學博士學位、美國新澤西理工學院日地物理研究中心空間天氣實驗室博士后研究,一路走來,兒時的興趣,加之少年時代的努力,終于鋪就劉睿的圓夢之路。2011年,劉睿完成博士后研究工作,選擇回國發展,被聘為中國科學技術大學地球和空間科學學院教授。事實上,回國的想法早在幾年前就已縈繞在他心間。2005年卡特里娜颶風襲擊之后美方政府的救災不力,2008年汶川大地震時中國政府的迅速反應,兩相對比,使身為四川人的劉睿更加真切地感受到祖國的凝聚力,也更加堅定回國的念頭。他說:“我們每個人都有一個中國夢,也都在為此努力。”
把握太陽“脈搏”
太陽不僅給地球帶來光明和溫暖,它的活動也會對地球環境帶來災害性影響。太陽上的爆發活動會噴射出大量物質和高能帶電粒子,稱為太陽風暴,有時一天會發生數次之多。
盡管普通人察覺不到太陽風暴的發生,它的破壞力卻不可小覷。
1989年3月,日面上出現一個超級太陽黑子群,源于這個黑子群的太陽風暴到達地球,引起近50年來最強的地磁暴,導致加拿大魁北克省一個變壓器因地磁感應電流過大而燒毀,整個電網在90秒內全面癱瘓,停電達9小時以上,600萬居民受到影響,直接經濟損失約5億美元。
2003年10月底至11月初,太陽上再次發生一系列強烈的爆發活動,由于恰逢西方萬圣節前后,因此被稱為“萬圣節風暴”。這次事件引起的地磁暴強度不如1989年3月的地磁暴,但由于我們對復雜技術系統的依賴性已經大大增加,產生的損失有過之而無不及:半數以上的地球軌道衛星報告了異常或出現故障,多顆科學衛星遭受數據丟失或損壞,其中日本的環境觀測衛星ADEOS-2完全失效,僅此一項造成損失6.4億美元,甚至遠在火星的奧德賽號太空飛船(Mars Odyssey)上的火星環境輻射探測儀也因太陽風暴襲擊而報廢;全球范圍內的通信受到干擾,海事緊急呼叫系統癱瘓,GPS定位精度降低,珠峰探險隊通信中斷,我國北方短波通信受到嚴重干擾;瑞典馬爾默市一個電力系統遭到破環,5萬居民的電力供應中斷,而美國電網得力于及時的空間環境預警,僅受到輕微影響。
劉睿主要從事太陽風暴(包括日珥爆發、耀斑和日冕物質拋射)的研究,涉及太陽風暴的起源、物理結構、爆發條件以及爆發的物理過程。在國外工作期間,對日珥爆發中的硬X射線爆、日冕內爆、大尺度耀斑電流片等的研究取得了一系列成果。作為空間災害性天氣事件的主要驅動源,太陽風暴的研究成果是空間環境保障服務不可缺少的理論基礎和預報依據?臻g環境保障涉及國防、航空航天、通訊導航、電力和石油運輸等各個方面,是國家需求之一。
2012年,劉睿入選第二批青年“**計劃”,并獲得國家首批“優秀青年科學基金”資助;貒,劉睿迅速融入中國科大日地物理研究團組,與汪毓明教授、申成龍副教授等密切合作。劉睿圍繞磁繩形成和雙層日珥及其爆發機制開展了相關科研。
磁繩形成:報導了高度剪切的冕環結構通過似穩的非爆發性磁重聯形成磁繩并逐漸演化為不穩定的結構從而最后爆發的詳細過程,證實了磁繩作為儲存自由磁能的一個重要結構可以在太陽大氣中穩定存在,并為解釋行星際磁繩的來源問題提供了線索。
雙層日珥及其爆發機制: 首次發現并研究了一個雙層日珥由似穩平衡態向部分爆發演化的過程。他們發現爆發前數小時內日珥下層多次向上層輸運物質和磁通,最終使得上層不穩定,從而爆發形成日冕物質拋射;下層則保持平衡態。基于SDO、STEREO A和B三顆衛星同時觀測的數據,他們不僅得到日珥各層爆發前的真實高度,還明確推斷出兩層的磁螺度均為左手性。在此基礎上,提出雙層日珥的兩種可能磁場位形。由于任意一層磁結構中都可能缺失日珥物質從而表現為普通的日珥,這種雙層結構具有廣泛的意義。他們進一步發現由色球纖維向日珥輸運磁通也可以驅動日珥爆發,因此這是一種重要的爆發機制。這些成果均發表在頂級學術刊物《天體物理期刊(The Astrophysical Journal)》上。

將時空放大, 日子周而復始, 類似的情節如煙花, 一時璀璨過后, 平靜下來, 只剩枯燥與寂寞。對于科研工作者來說, 這種難耐的重復似乎更是常人難以想象,談及此,劉睿很坦誠:“科研工作辛苦而平淡,主要在于堅持,有些工作需要幾年如一日地鉆研,需要坐得住冷板凳。”艱苦耕耘的汗水,凝結成累累成果, 那些記憶中仍然歷歷在目的點與面, 在劉睿的話語中徐徐展開,并潛移默化地成為他之后科研道路上的準則。
在中科院空間天氣實驗室做碩士論文時,當年已經60多歲的魏奉思老師(現為院士)仍銳意創新,并堅持親自動手處理一些非常繁瑣的科研工作,他的探索精神給劉睿留下了很深的印象。而在美國攻讀博士期間遇到的兩名導師——David Alexander和Holly Gilbert,在治學上非常嚴謹,劉睿經常與他們就某個科研問題激烈爭論,有時因為無法相互說服對方,這種爭論會持續很久,這種嚴謹的治學態度也不知不覺滲入劉睿的教學思想中。博士后期間的導師是新澤西理工學院的王海民教授,他非常鼓勵基于興趣的探索,并不強求開展項目里的工作,劉睿說:“因為是興趣使然,反而能出很多成果,愿意付出很多精力。”
在美國新澤西理工學院從事博士后研究時,劉睿就已晉升為研究教授并指導學生。2013年,他開始在中國科學技術大學地球和空間科學學院招收博士生和碩士生,結合自己的求學經歷,他更相信言傳身教、以身作則,按照學生自身背景和興趣因材施教。
如今,劉睿已經回國兩年多了,當被問及國內外在太陽物理領域的對比時,他坦言,就發表論文、科研成果來說,國內外較為接近,但在觀測手段上的差距較大。在太陽物理領域,國內目前還沒有搭載空間望遠鏡來觀測太陽的衛星和飛船。國內的科研人員主要依靠國外的衛星數據,盡管國外儀器的科學數據通常免費共享,但沒有自己自主的儀器和觀測數據,不能不說是一個很大欠缺。然而,劉睿從未后悔過自己的選擇,在他看來,選擇回國是一件很自然的事:“我認為一個人對親人、朋友的愛,對自己所在團體、國家的認可,是一種自然、樸素的情感。”讓他深感幸福的是,太陽物理研究滿足了自己的好奇心,同時能為國家做出貢獻。
